While Amtrak’s Lakeshore Limited makes its station stop at Union Station in Erie, Pennsylvania, Norfolk Southern intermodal 29P passes by lead by NS 4004, one of the locomotives painted in a special mane scheme as part of the introduction of the AC44C6M modernization program. Amtrak is running over CSX’s Erie West Subdivision, while NS is running over its Lake Erie District, which runs on the same alignment though downtown Erie to bypass the former 19th Street Running trackage.
