Electric Night. For the 30th anniversary of the Danbury Railway Museum, on the night of Saturday, August 24, 2024, the museum held events all day specifically for photographers. After dark, museum volunteers set up a number of scenes across the rail yard that were lighted with flashes for photographers to capture. This included the first views of the re-painted body of New York Central S-1 100, which was brought to the museum earlier this year and has seen a tremendous amount of work towards stabilization and ultimately restoration. Also included was the newest addition to the museum, Amtrak AEM-7 917, which only arrived a few short months ago. While this was the first organized night shoot in over a decade to honor the 1994 creation of the organization. The museum plans to hold more events for photographers in the future. Amtrak AEM-7 917, the newest piece of equipment to join the DRM collection, was a major attraction for the photographers.
