After sitting on the Amsterdam weeds filled siding for well over a year, a tank car involved and damaged in the August 4th, 2023 derailment in Cranseville, NY with two center-beam flat cars are finally being scrapped on-sight and laying on their side with one flatcar still upright. At the time of this photo, one side of the tank car had already been stripped and the metal piled up to left also other scattered parts like the hand-brake wheel, gladhands, springs, etc. lay on the ground next to the car.
Intermodal cars seen further behind that have also been stored on this siding since the spring, are being brought back into revenue service and finally clearing most of the siding up to CP-173, one of the last active sidings between there & Little Falls with the Fonda switch being removed at CP-184.
