Here's a look back at a shortline that has undergone a lot of changes since this photo was taken. At the time, the railroad was a roster of mostly U-series GEs hauling a modest amount of freight on branchlines east of Nashville. Fast forward to present and while the roster is still predominantly GE (all Dash 8 series now) with the exception of two SD70Ms used for unit rock train service, the railroad now features a 59 mph CTC mainline between Nashville and Lebanon, TN hosting the state's only commuter rail operation (albeit a small one). The scene in Watertown, TN has not changed all that much except for crossing gates added at this particular location. The 5772 and 5345 (a former C&O U30B) have come west from Carthage Jct to retrieve these boxcars to take back to Bonnell, TN.
