The second train of the day southbound over the Bernina line of the Rhaetian Railway, train 4613 of line R19 from St. Moritz to Tirano with the "Allegra" railcar ABe 8/12 # 3508, arrives at Alp Grüm. At the end of the train is a goods wagon with a waste container, just like every Monday. The tenant of the Alp Grüm station restaurant, Primo Semadeni, is ready to load the waste. Alp Grüm cannot be reached by road, as the supply and disposal of waste is carried out exclusively by rail. The striking stone hotel and restaurant Alp Grüm belonged to the Bernina Railway (and today the Rhaetian Railway) and was built in 1923 by architect Nicolaus Hartmann after the private Bernina Railway opened in 1910.
