One of the oldest traction units in Switzerland in regular daily use, here as a shunting vehicle at Poschiavo station. The small locomotive Ge 2/2 # 162, known as the "little donkey", was built together with its sister locomotive # 161 in 1911 by SIG and Alioth as # 61 and # 62 for the then independent Bernina Railway, primarily as a lead locomotive. Both locomotives are still in regular service today and are used as shunting vehicles in Poschiavo, mainly to add or remove freight wagons (like this one with a Coop container) to the passenger trains, or also to move the track plough.
