Chicago Transit Authority's Tower 18 controls movements on a number of Chicago CTA "El" lines (Green, Pink, Brown and Purple) in the Loop area. On the last evening of September, an Orange Line train rounds the curve to head east while a westbound Green Line train passes the tower – and a third rail shoe arcs brightly in the process. A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
