Espee Tank. The waste water collection tank at the Union Pacific facility/Amtrak station in Dunsmuir, California is a lasting memory of the Southern Pacific Lines. Depicted is SP 6839 (SD45T-2R) began life as SP 9352 (SD45T-2) next to SP 4449, "the Daylight" or 4-8-4 "Northern". Despite being taken over by Union Pacific Railroad in 1996, many remnants of "SP" or "Espee" are still in evidence 25 years late on the night of March 26, 2022.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
