Annual run of the FRA train over FGAR this year began on the east end. Train ran from CSXT Pensacola to Tallahassee, then to Jacksonville the next. It really could have come out of the yard in the siding, closer to the depot, but instead backed way out to the other end of the yard and came down the main. Would have looked great with, say, an FGAR SD40-2 leading, but this is just as remarkable. The depot, built in 1858, has received quite a facelift and was put on the US National Register of Historic Places in 1997. The former passenger station sits directly across the street, but has been fenced off in recent months.
