The two restaurants on the Oberalp Pass were previously supplied in winter, when the road was closed, by the car transport train that ran several times a day between Andermatt and Sedrun. Due to insufficient demand, these trains were discontinued. Now, during the closure of the pass road, a short freight train runs from Andermatt to the Oberalp Pass and back every Wednesday, ensuring the supply of the necessary goods. The Matterhorn-Gotthard Railway does not have a suitable goods wagon available for this purpose, so Gak # 2443 of the Furka Bergstrecke steam railroad (DFB) is used for this purpose. The wagon was built in 1906 by SIG Neuhausen as K # 63 for the Visp-Zermatt Railway, was rebuilt several times and came to the DFB in 2002, where it was renovated to its current condition. The HGe 4/4 II # 104 pulls the short train from Andermatt to Oberalppass through the curve before Nätschen.
