On the morning of December 26th, 2023, west-facing CDOT GE P32AC-DM #230 leads Metro-North Railroad train 1831 under the historic Riverside Avenue Bridge on the New Haven Line in Riverside, CT. This 1870s Pratt Truss-style bridge stands as Connecticut's sole cast iron bridge. It was initially a part of the first reconstruction of the NYNH&H RR Housatonic River Railroad Bridge in Stratford, Connecticut but later found a new home 11 years after the completion of the current structure. The bridge now serves as a road crossing over the very railroad line it once supported.
