Sunrise At New England's Rising Star. The red, white and blue of the Phase III heritage paint scheme on Amtrak’s 40th Anniversary P42DC 145 passed through Hartford, Connecticut on the early morning of Sunday, November 12, 2023 on train 143 with the state capitol building in the background. The nickname "New England's Rising Star" was applied in the 1960s when the city was trying to attract various businesses and tourism. The city is one of the oldest in the United States, and is still well known as a center of insurance businesses leading to one of its other nicknames "Insurance Capital of the World", but is also home to notable higher educational institutions, medical facilities, and historic and cultural sites.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
