Debuting the Mohawk, Adirondak & Northern Railroad's Alco C425 2455's repainting into a BC Rail inspired two-tone green paint scheme, a portion of the railroad's roster was posed at the engine house in Utica, New York for a night time family portrait. All four locomotives present spent time on BC Rail, with 2042 still wearing the BC Rail red, white & blue. MHWA 2453 and 2456, sisters to the 2455, wear the corporate colors of parent GVT Rail. All three C425 were originally built by Alco for the Erie Lackawanna.
New York state has the largest number of ALCO diesel locomotives working in everyday service. Here are some of them. Soon I hope to chronicle all of them.
