EL and Pennsy Style. At an event sponsored by the Northumberland County Council For The Arts and Humanities for Memorial Day Weekend, on May 25, 2019, North Shore Railroad's (NSHR) Shamokin Valley Railroad operated a pair of passenger trains called the "Heritage Festival Express" in Shamokin, Pennsylvania. The train is seen crossing North Market Street in the commercial area of Shamokin with NSHR 1940 (née-SOU 2317, EMD, SW1500, 11/1968) leading. NSHR 1962 "Endless Mountains" is the lead coach, painted in the style of Pennsylvania Railroad but not able to conceal its Delaware, Lackawanna, and Western electric MU heritage with windows on the ends of the car. The North Shore Railroads use a mix of Erie Lackawanna, Pennsylvania, and other railroad paint schemes. The railroad operates periodic trains for passengers, but this line is normally only for freight.
