NS 1700 strikes a pose at CP Bound Brook reminiscent of Erie Lackawanna's SDP45s which were equipped with dual control stands and often operated long hood forward. The EL heritage unit was assigned to Conrail OI-95, giving it a chance to "stretch its legs" on the mainline for a change, even if it was simply handling a ballast extra. Lately, this unit seems to spend most of its time confined to yard duty in the North Jersey terminal area. Here the conductor is in position on the west end of the train as it advances east on Lehigh Line main 2. Once clear of the interlocking the train will shove west int the out-of-service track 1 to begin work for the day.
