The British Rail Class 777 METRO is a class of electric multiple unit passenger trains currently under construction by Swiss rolling stock manufacturer Stadler Rail, being used on the Merseyrail network in the Liverpool City Region and adjacent areas of Cheshire and Lancashire. They run with 750 V DC third rail, have a maximum velocity of 75 mph (120 km/h) and a starting acceleration of 1.1 m/s2 (3.6 ft/s2). 46 of this trains will be built, and 7 more with aditional battery traction (class 777/1)
