My wife used to work with someone who came from the eastern US, and after the San Gabriel Mountains would get some snow, on a clear day he would say, "It looks like we live somewhere." And as we took our walk this morning, looking to the north she reminded me of his saying. And, as a native southern Californian, I must say, he's not wrong!
Knowing how low the snow levels are after last weekend's massive and cold storm, I brought my camera on our walk and. as Metrolink train 687, with F125 917 on the rear, rolled into the station in our town on its way from Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo to Los Angeles, dragging the camera along proved to be a good decision. And, weatherwise, March did roar in like a lion this year. Amazingly, by the next day, the snow level was nowhere near this low - it sure melted quickly in the lower elevations!
