Thanks to a thus-far fairly wet winter, the hills of southern California are nice and green (and, sadly, much more burnable later in the year). It has even been wet enough that bright orange California poppies (the state flower) are growing in patches, which complements that color on the BNSF railway diesels (Dash 9-44CW 5089, ES44DC 7831 and ES44DC 7604 … with ES44C4 6941 as the rear DPU) on train S-LPCLBE1-14L as it passes through the San Bernardino Sub's location known as Esperanza. This Intermodal Stack train is moving containers from Chicago's Logistics Park (in Illinois) to the Port of Long Beach, California. (Yorba Linda, California – February 18, 2023)
