On July 3, 1989, an eastbound Burlington Northern coal train rolls through a curve east Newcastle, Wyoming. Powering the train are Cascade green BN EMD SD40-2 No. 6736, leading a quartet of GE locomotives—three C30-7s and a U30C.
Coal and steel don't go bad. This album features long, slow, heavy freight trains; drag freights, slop freights, dead freights, etc. Trains with lots of power, and lots of different cargo slogging along behind.
