The Minnesota Valley Regional Rail Authority, which owns this former Minneapolis & St Louis Railway line, is making steady progress on upgrading the track and right of way along its entire length. While the speed limit west of Gibbon remains 10 mph, more work is proceeding to replace ancient rail and ties, as well as upgrade various bridges. Most recently, the wooden pile trestle over Crow Creek between Morton and North Redwood was replaced with this concrete and steel structure. An eastbound train, comprised mostly of loaded grain cars from Echo, is one of the first trains to cross the new span.
