An "Armstrong" turntable in every sense of the word. At the new Trout Brook Station, the crew of WW&F Locomotive #9 put some serious muscle into their effort to turn their locomotive for its southbound run to Sheepscot. The center bearing on this turntable is small, and the bridge lacks any push-poles to create leverage, so turning the locomotive requires a fair bit of physical strength. A small engine, such as the 18-ton #9 can be turned by 4-6 people. A larger one, such as the 33-ton Bridgton & Saco River #7, which periodically visits this location, takes a bit of a crowd.
