Full House in ABQ. On the afternoon of August 5, 2016. the Amtrak Albuquerque, New Mexico station was a beehive of activity. A doubleheaded New Mexico Rail Runner Express Train with NMRX 107 (MP36PH-3C) sits on the left while the Amtrak Southwest Chief (Train 3, Chicago, Illinois-Los Angeles, California) sits in the middle. On the right, AMTK 145 (P42DC, Phase III, 40th Anniversary) is tied down for the night after a 2 day inspection trip over the route of the Southwest Chief. Amtrak President Joseph Boardman and other officials from local government and BNSF traveled across Kansas, Colorado, and New Mexico to see upgrades that had been made to the line as well as thank those who had worked to put together the funding for the project. The train had already been turned to prepare for the next day's trip to El Paso, Texas.
