Union Pacific GP40P-2 has been assigned to the local that originates in Anaheim for several months now, and it is hard to not go out to photograph it as it is one of only three GP40P-2s built by EMD (in this case, for the former Southern Pacific 7602, originally SP 3199). UP 1375 and GP60 1083 (ex-UP 1953, née-SSW 9651) are seen passing the Santa Ana Transportation Center, the city’s station for Amtrak, Metrolink and buses (and, soon, light rail as well), with 11 cars (4 centerbeams, 5 box cars and 2 tank cars), and just beyond the station this train will switch back to Union Pacific trackage to get to the industrial park in southern Santa Ana.
