This weekend, the east-west mainline of Switzerland was completely closed in Mägenwil by planed catenary works for about 52 hours! Many trains were diverted via Brugg and Baden instead of running via Lenzburg-Heitersberg (and vice versa), others were cancelled, there were very many changed timetables and shortened or changed train runs. Train IC 10711 from Geneva Airport via Lausanne-Bern was running to Zürich only, instead of St.Gallen, and was rerouted from Rupperswil via Wildegg-Brugg AG-Baden to Killwangen, instead of via Lenzburg-Heitersberg. The 400 meter long train with "FVD" RABDe 502 # 001 (IC200) and RABe 502 # 220 (IR200) is crossing the 93 meter long bridge over the Reuss river between Brugg AG and Turgi. This is the second oldest railway bridge of Switzerland which is still used, and was opened in 1856 by the Nordostbahn (NOB).
