January 2018 was an interesting time on the Coast Line. Due to massive mud slides, Amtrak service was the only way that many Santa Barbara and Carpinteria residents had access to the outside world. As a result, extra cars and equipment were brought in from NorCal. This also led to double ended consists, allowing for some rare shots of passenger power on the south/east end of the consists of Surfliner trains. An Amtrak California B32, one of two, brings up the rear of train 763 as they depart Burbank-Bob Hope Airport.
