Ge 2/4 # 222 of the Rhaetian Railway with a mixed passenger/freight train in the Bever valley. The locomotive was built in 1913 as # 204 by SLM and BBC for the new lower Engadine line from Bever to Scuol-Tarasp, which was electrified since inauguration with 11000 V AC 16,7 Hz. In 1946 the locomotive was rebuilt with a more powerful 600 horsepower motor, replacing the old 300 horsepower Déry motor from 1913, and the maximum velocity was raised from 45 to 55 km/h. The historic locomotive was on a driver training run between Spinas and Samedan this day with a beautiful consist of vintage cars.
