Locomotive M62UMM # 001 of the Mongolian Railway (german nickname "Wumme" or "Taigatrommel", built about 1980 by Voroshilovgrad Locomotive works in Luhansk, with new prime mover refitted) with a northbound passenger train to Ulaanbaatar just run through the Omega shaped loop of Khonkhor. Shot during a Tanago Tour, guided by excellent railway photographer and RP contributor Temuulen Batkhurel (Monrailpics Tours). On the right: Blue prayer shawls blow on every pass as a visible sign of worship of the gods or spirits. Since in Mongolia only very rarely suitable trees are available, the prayer cloths are knotted around wooden slats, which protrude from constantly improved stone hills.
