CSX Q409 does track speed through Patterson as it closes in on its final destination of Waycross. Powering the train on this day is the “Hardin Triplets,” CSX’s Spirit engines which honor the armed forces (the 1776; leading), law enforcement (3194; trailing), & first responders (911; mid-train DPU). These engines were the talk of the week after surprisingly being brought out of a year & a half long period of sitting in storage in Waycross after being tagged for “Special Events Only” a week earlier when they were surprisingly assigned to take Q410 north to Selkirk, NY. Not knowing how long they would stay out in service, I made sure to get out & get them while I could when they came back south a week later on 410’s counterpart.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
