It's October and the fall colors are at their peak in the state of Indiana. With two GEs upfront, Norfolk Southern's fan-favorite Roadrailer swings around the curve near downtown Lafayette as it heads westbound for Kansas City. NS 255 and counterpart 256 are among the last consistent Roadrailer services in the United States and with a global pandemic hindering the economy, rumors of these trains being abolished have been floating around for months now. On this particular day, I and some friends caught one of the last WB trains before Triple Crown shut down its facilities for two weeks to do some major renovations. As of November, these trains are still going strong but only time will tell how much longer these unique trains have.
