On Thursday, September 24, 2020, Delaware Lackawanna president David Mont Verde and other railroad officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the recently completed Von Storch locomotive shop in Scranton, PA. After the festivities were over, a handful of invited photographers participated in a night time photoshoot with several Delaware Lackawanna locomotives posing around the shop. Here we see DL locomotives 2457 (C425), 2045 (M420) and 2423 (C425) idling outside of the facility. Thanks to the hostler "Alco Doc" Don Colangelo, and lighting coordinator Marc Glucksman for making this event possible.
Don Colangelo, retired CMO (and sometimes piano player) at the DL Scranton shops cared for the many ALCOs, MLWs and a few EMDs that passed in and out of South Scranton and Von Storch shop doors.
Here is a look and many of those units.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
