A BNSF SD70MAC is rear DPU power on Cicero, IL - Eddystone, PA K162. The train is passing through the Village of Pittsford, and over the New York State Barge Canal on the bridge in the background. The cars on the right belong to a local auto service center, and include an Aston Martin hidden amongst the rusting pickup trucks.
===== History =====
The train is seen here passing through the Village of Pittsford. The line the train is on is one of the few remaining sections of the West Shore Railway, a New York City - Buffalo line that was initially built to compete with the New York Central before becomming tracks 5 & 6 to their mighty 'Waterlevel Route'. While most of the Westshore had been abandoned, this 21-mile stretch still exists as a 'bypass' around Rochester and sees frequent freight traffic. The bridge in the background currently crosses the New York State Barge Canal, which is the modern incarnation of the more famous Erie Canal, and follows much of its original route.
