The Lady and the City. New Jersey Transit 4109 (GP40PH-2) leads train 1727 into Lyndhurst, NJ on the afternoon of May 10, 2020, having just crossed Upper Hack Draw with New York City in the background. This engine has exclusively served the State of New Jersey commuter operations since being built by EMD in 1968, and while not native to the former Erie Railroad Main Line, it has spent its entire operating career within a little over 100 miles of this location. Its inclusion in NJT's 40th Anniversary heritage celebration and repaint to CNJ tribute was a welcomed decision.
Photos from across RP of NJ Transit’s 40th Anniversary specially painted & wrapped units.
Also included are the fully wrapped Veterans & Pride tribute units.
