As part of the "Norfolk & Western Reunion of Steam" event, a photo charter was planned using Strasburg Rail Road owned Norfolk & Western 475 and visiting locomotive Norfolk & Western 611. The 611 was pulling a freight train as it did in its final days of service. The first shot of the day shows 611 crossing rural farmlands at sunrise. I posted a similar version of this photo last fall, but as I went throigh these images again I really like this frame with the glint off the nose.
Amtrak Downeaster
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
