With its trainload of happy passengers safely back at Barstow beginning their journeys home, BNSF 4228 and the 2019 edition of the BNSF Christmas Train are into the first few miles of their own journey home as they head west for Cajon Pass and San Bernardino. Once safely back at B Yard, the train's many volunteers will detrain and unload the supplies from the past three days before the train highballs east for the business car home base of Topeka, Kansas. Of special interest, just above the second car in this photo, one will notice a pair of ATSF searchlight signals still earning their keep inside the wye located here.
