This diesel power car 43 # 002 "Sir Kenneth Grange" was restored to the original Intercity 125 livery in May 2016 with the number 253 # 001 and is standing on the turntable of the National Railway Museum in York. Originally it had Paxman Valenta engines with 2250 HP and the class is officially the fastest diesel locomotive in the world, with an absolute maximum speed of 148 mph (238 km/h), and a regular service speed of 125 mph (201 km/h). The record run was led by 43102 and trailed by 43159. The class 43 is still running for the Great Western Railway, East Midlands Railway, London North Eastern Railway, Scotrail and Cross Country, with MAN prime movers now.
