Shortly after sunrise the "HST 125" train of Scotrail with diesel power cars of class 43 # 158 in front and another in the rear, is crossing the 2523 meter long Forth Bridge between Queensferry North and Dalmeny with the 1B07 service from Aberdeen to Edinburgh. The bridge throws a shadow to the fog in the background. The impressive cantilever bridge was built between 1882 and 1890 and is UNESCO World Heritage since 2015. About 200 trains a day are crossing the Firth of Forth over the bridge.
Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
