Hanging On By a Thread: On March 13, 2019, CSX Local B761 works a weed-ridden track to serve K C Refrigeration in Troy, NY. Troy once hosted four different railroads (New York Central, Delaware and Hudson, Boston and Maine, and Rutland), but today only the former New York Central tracks to South Troy remain as a part of CSX’s Troy Industrial Track. Until recently, CSX still served three customers in Troy (Interstate Commodities, American Rock Salt, and K C Refrigeration), however now only K C Refrigeration remains. Not that long ago, the two dormant tracks to the left were typically filled with empties and loads for Interstate Commodities, while another track out of sight to the left handled the covered hoppers for American Rock Salt. Needless to say, the railroad scene in Troy looks to be hanging on by a thread.
