On CSX’s Mohawk Subdivision (originally New York Central’s “Water Level Route”), Union Pacific’s OCS heads east through Cranesville, NY along the Mohawk River, passing Lock 10 of the Erie Canal (the modern Erie Canal utilizes the Mohawk River through here). The train carried UP officials to the Railex facility in Rotterdam, NY, which is also the destination for a regular, dedicated reefer train that originates on Union Pacific.
Taking a look at the same train and scene as captured by different photographers. The best way to view will be to sort by photo date so the photos are grouped together.
