The LIRR's mainline east of Ronkonkoma is one of the more forgotten services on the system. While the line once hosted more than a dozen small stations, only six remain in service, all of which have been rebuilt with high-level platforms with capacity for one and a half cars. In the summer, trains run with as many as three cars to tourist-rich Greenport, but in the offseason the consist often has just one car. One such train is seen here at the long-abandoned Calverton station, which remains largely untouched to this day.
