January 20, 2018 brought people from several different states up to Pan Am's Hinckley Branch near Waterville, Maine for one common purpose. That was to catch the road's two Heritage GP9s once again being in charge of running the SAPPI jobs. The former Maine Central territory has treated many well over the years where photos are concerned, but the old Hinckley Branch has outperformed them all in longevity and surprises. Just below the mill at Route 201 in upper Fairfield, BM 77 and MEC 52 led 30 cars toward Waterville. Nothing ever has or ever will sound so good!
