The 1986 Blue Mountain & Reading railfan weekend featured a constant schedule of two trains operating between Temple and Hamburg, Pennsylvania, meeting at Leesport. Here a northbound (timetable westbound) excursion led by two PRR E8’s waits in the siding as the featured locomotive, newly acquired Reading T-1 4-8-4 2102, rolls by on the main. The conductor is on his way to chew out the knucklehead who chose to detrain and stand between the tracks in order to get a prize-winning photo of the big Northern. The Reading & Northern has begun a refurbishment program to get the big 4-8-4 back in operation. Those who think that the 425 is loud will be surprised to hear the volume of a T-1 working on the R&N.
From a hint of "Bee" (NKP 765), colorful "Bees" (KCS), "Bees" w/ "attitude", to "Bees" that "sting" your eyes, in their own way they have "Bee" on display! Equipment that "Buzzes" with Yellow & Black colors! ("Bees" can still "Bee" entering this "hive"!)
