Before sunrise early on the morning of November 9, 2017, a Metra commuter train headed for Chicago pauses at Highlands, just east of Hinsdale, Illinois. Powering today’s train is Metra F40PH-3 No. 100, specially-wrapped in RTA (Regional Transportation Authority) colors worn during Metra’s formative years.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
