The loaded Stilesboro coal bucket CSX N255-09 (Evansville,IN/EVWR-Stilesboro,GA) stagger around the curve in the rural part of Dalton, GA on the CSX Western & Atlantic Sub (WA). The second motor of this train was suffering some what of engine trouble which it was up to the lead unit to keep the train going while the second unit was limping right along. In addition to the melee the 98 car train was under power and was fight the grade just 7 rail miles north of the crest, along with AC-Dispatcher wasn't ready for this train to come into town, and cross the CSX/NS diamond. The worst case scenario would be that this train would stall before getting into Dalton. The loaded coal bucket would be taking a detour on it's trip south instead of going to Stilesboro, the train is heading to Tilford Yard in near Midtown Atlanta. A few days prior a fire has broke out at switch yard due to a transformer failure at the ninth largest power plant in America Plant Bowen. With all the event that happen at the Plant, Georgia Power had to temporary suspend coal delivery til the damage was taken care of and the section of that plant was consider to be safe for operation again. Note the freshly repainted lead motor.
