New Haven RDC 23, so far undisturbed by the Penn Central takeover three months earlier, hums north along the Naugatuck River at Ansonia, CT, on a Bridgeport-Waterbury run. The diverging track at left, which in 1969 was just an industrial spur, represented the original alignment of the ancestral Naugatuck RR that remained on the east side of the river. Today a flood wall occupies that land.
