The Original NS
Northbound NS 797 thunders pass the Pilgrim Pride chicken farm in the rural community of Varnell, GA on the NS Atlanta North-End heading back to the Illinois Basin after dumping the train at the Georgia Power Hammond Steam plant just west of Rome, GA on the Coosa River. With a curfew going on it normal route up the CNO&TP 2nd District, the North-End dispatcher had giving the crew a track authority to proceed on the main 1 track from Varnell, Ga to the NS Cohutta District (I-Line) to Cleveland, TN. Once there a crew change would be made, and the empty coal bucket will run north to Knoxville, TN eventually getting back on the CNO&TP via of the K&O District.
