Pure luck. The UP Desert Storm unit passed us westbound at O'Fallon's, but we were on the south side of the tracks and an eastbound was in our way. I was willing to risk a ticket trying to catch up but the train slowed at Sutherland, allowing us to get several photos. The engineer tossed out some paperwork at our last encounter, asking for photos. Of course I obliged and he sent me some UP stuff in return.
