Dedicated on July 12, 1978, the Amtrak station in Rochester, NY was the first Amtrak designed station in the country. Numerous other examples cropped up around the system when Amtrak needed a new station facility to accommodate its service when older and usually much larger predecessor stations were no longer suitable or feasible. A young railfan stands beneath the new Amtrak logo with excitement as the Maple Leaf rolls in. The outline of the arrow logo can be seen if you look hard enough. Don't worry, the boy's parent was just out of the frame and consented to the photo.
