This was one of those lucky breaks this hobby will occasionally give you if the stars align(which in all honesty is usually NOT the case...). I missed this unusual duo on a K044 earlier in the week due a late evening departure out of Selkirk for Philly. When it finally arrived back north, the timing was right and the weather divine. Even with all the Class One circus colors of foreign power invading the River Sub these last couple years with the Bakken Oil Boom, KCS 'Southern Belle' SD70Aces and blue & white CIT SD9043MACs are still a oddity in upstate NY. Paired together they make up a prize photogenic gem for regional photographers already saturated with the daily CSXT 'dark future' GEVO blues. The crew of the K041-06 has just met a southbound stacker Q004 at CP-SK and after a brief wait, have been given the all clear for the Selkirk Inbound for a crew change behind the Selkirk Hump for it's journey west.
