A view from the mountain to the train station in Brig at nightfall. On the left the tracks for freight trains, behind the siding for passenger trains and the loco shed. In front 4 platforms with 7 platform tracks, on the right of the station buildings (in front a public parking garage and the new administration building of the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn) on the station square the tracks of the MGB, where during the 13 seconds exposure time just a trainarrived. Over the river Rhone (called Rotten in this german speaking part of the Valais) from above a road bridge, the former railway bridge of the Furka-Oberalp Bahn (unused today, former route through Naters to the Goms valley), a pedestrian bridge and the dual railway bridge to the Lötschberg mountain route. A view from the opposite direction some years ago http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=246595
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
