Soon after the 1983 UP-WP merger, Western Pacific locomotives were scattered throughout the UP system. WP 3019, a Boise rebuilt EMD GP35, works the morning switch job in the joint UP/Utah Railway Provo Yard. The 3019, built by EMD in April 1965, would be renumbered/repainted the UP 797 by Dec. 1983, and retired by April 1993 and sold to Watco, Inc.
